We have had such a mild winter this year, that the ice rink in our backyard has been sitting empty all season. I put the frame up in November because last year we were skating on it by the beginning of December. Well, we finally got a few days in a row that were below zero – so I decided to fill it a few days ago.
Or not. Last year I didn’t put up the ice rink until the middle of December. It was FREEZING! And I had to shovel the snow from the entire backyard before I could even get started. By the time I was done, I was an icicle. So I vowed that this year I would do it differently, I would put the frame up in October before it gets cold!
After a lot of blood sweat and tears, the Condo is done. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun! Good bonding time with my Mum, and a little break from my life. I still can’t believe how well it turned out!
I hate our backyard – there is no place to sit or entertain, we have no fence… it`s just a mess! So we got a quote on getting a fence and deck put in and it came back at $8,000. Hahaha – we do NOT have eight grand to sink into our backyard. But when I get something in my head – it sticks. So I`m going to build myself a deck!
What does a girl born and raised in the warmth of the Caribbean know about building an Ice Skating Rink??? Absolutely NOTHING!!! But that’s not going to stop me from trying to build one:)
Tiling the Kitchen (Part 2)
Okay, now that you have all of the shopping done – you are ready to get started!
‘Bridge the Builder’
I don’t know why, because I have absolutely no real idea what I am doing, but there are sometimes days when I think I could single-handedly build a house if I really wanted to. Hence the title ‘Bridge the Builder’, it is my husband’s nickname for me… I like buying tools and coming up with projects around the house… I am a crazy person:)
